It takes a bit of nerve (in a good way, I think) to do this project. So far, I've been asking gracious friends and people I already know if I can invite myself over so they can cook for me. Kelly is the first podcast guest I've visited who I hadn't met in person before, and she was every bit as hospitable lovely as I expected. We connected on Instagram, as you do, and the more I learned about Kelly's work, the more I wanted to know. Kelly has a closet of backgrounds for her food photography, Pampers boxes of linens, and shelves of dishes, glassware, bowls, serving dishes, vases and other treasures in her apartment. She worked some very quick magic to add a bit of style to our meal. It was so much fun to see the behind-the-scenes workings of how the magic happens.
You can find Kelly and her work at kellyneil.com, where you can also sign up for her newsletter. And as we chat about a bit, she writes for the Chronicle Herald. On Instagram, you can find Kelly at baconandbaileys. Also at theclementinecupboard where you just might find a vintage treasure from her stash.
In the podcast, we mention:
All-Clad is Kelly's preferred risotto-making pan.
