I was in "the city" (that's how most people from my end of Nova Scotia refer to Halifax) for work recently, and my gracious colleague and friend Sally invited me over. Sally and I have been friends for a decade, give or take. She's tall, I'm short. She has gorgeous curly hair, and mine is straight. She can ration out a bar of chocolate over the course of a week, and I'm lucky if I can make it last the afternoon. But we both love a nice cup of tea and a good visit, linen, murder mysteries, and herbs. Sally is a lovely and welcoming host, and it's always a treat to visit. Her home is full of art and handmade treasures, and has a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. We visited on a very dark June evening with thundershowers darkening the sky, which only made the visit cozier. Sally chose to share two recipes, and they are both herbal and delicious, perfect for summer sharing with friends in the backyard.
In the audio, we mention:
